Saturday 15th of October 2011

The short course is an entry level, off-road adventure race and is a great way to enter the world of adventure racing with 5km Run/12km MTB for women and 7km Run/15km MTB for men. The longer course is designed to challenge the more experienced, for women 10km Run/26km MTB and men 12km Run and 27km MTB. The races are run separately, women in the morning and men in the afternoon. Both Short and Long Courses can be run as a team, however, those wishing to run as a mixed sex team must run the Men’s Length courses in the afternoon. The Mountain Biking component of both events is of a non-technical nature with the courses run exclusively on Forest roads and tracks.

We have some great spot prizes from Krank Dirtwear, Activity Hanmer and Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa .

Extreme weather conditions i.e. fire danger or strong winds can cause the forest to be closed at short notice. Should this happen the organisers reserve the right to hold entry fees and offer an alternative date.

Bike Checks: We highly recommend that competitors present their bike for a check prior to the race. This may be done at any reputable bike store anytime prior to the event, on the Friday evening at registration, or on race day. See attached sheet for details to be checked. Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
