That is why there are so many races based in the area, including the Molesworth Muster, the Rainbow Rage, and the 12 hour Mt Bike events. Hanmer Events, in association with the Hanmer Springs Multi Sports Club, offers three of its own, the Four Square Half Marathon and 10km Fun Run and Walk, the Bivouac Mt Isobel Challenge, Alpine Village Inn Peak to pub, Hanmer Hammerhead, and the Krank Adventure Duathlon. Why not come on up and see what all the fuss is about?

Hanmer Springs is a beautiful alpine spa village, surrounded by mountains, with both exotic and native forest, two local rivers and many kilometers of forest and single track. Is it any wonder that it is a mega for Adventure Racing? What could be better than racing through the mountains, tracks and rivers during the day, soaking away the aches in the thermal pools afterwards, before a pleasant meal and a few drinks (and stories) with friends in the evening?

On behalf of myself, Heather McNabb, and my fellow male walker companion on the day, Colin Tasker, we would like to show our appreciation for the medals we received for being the first male and female walkers home on the day. There were many people walking in front of us, but they all also were running as well. We were 99.9 % sure there were no other genuine walkers ie( walkers who walked the whole way, no running) in front of us. This came as a wonderfull surprise, as we know you havn't been recognising walkers for several years now, because i guess it is too hard to police this, as there have and always will be cheats out there.
So once again, many thanks, keep up the good work. Prize giving was also over and finished with in good time, not like a lot of other places around the country, where they tend to drag on too long. Well done.
We have been coming to this event for quite a few years now, very pleased to see your entries increasing each time. See you again next year.
Thank you – can I also say thanks very much to you and all the people who organised this event – was really good.
The drink stations, road marking were clear and the prize giving was short, sweet and to the point.
Regards
Leigh
Thank you so much for a great event and emailing everyone the results. A well marked out race. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for organising such an excellent event! It was my first
Duathlon and first time having a go at mountain biking so I really appreciated that fact that the beginners course was just that and that I could actually do it! I will certainly be back next year with the hope of improving my race time (which should be possible now that I am not so scared of the downhill bits J). Jenny and I have raved about it at work and will encourage others to come along next year.
Once again thanks for the experience J
Hi guys - just to say a big thank you for organising the race. The short course was a perfect course for first timers like me and really well marked out. It was so encouraging to have friendly marshals around the course spurring you on too. Thank you especially to for emailing me the enrolment form as I very much doubt that I would have entered - I certainly had never thought about it - far too scary for me! Anyway - thanks so much for your encouragement - I was really surprised to do it in the time I did. Keep it up - hope the event doubles in size for you next year. With thanks,
Grace (Thanks to Peak Fuel and Krank too - I love my new T. shirt!!!!)
