We hold seven national first place medals dating from 1982 through to 2009. Christchurch City Chorus barbershop singers wowed New York’s Carnegie Hall threatre goers in February 2009, with their incredible New Zealand package. “They were the most focused, energized, fun, entertaining, musically sound chorus - they simply STOLE THE SHOW and the 3000 in the audience gave them their much deserved standing ovations. It was an historic high for these dedicated women who belong to Christchurch City Chorus.” Our chorus reflects the diversity of the Canterbury community with women of all ages from many walks of life, including: scientists, police officers, lawyers, software developers, farmers, teachers, health workers, accountants, homemakers, mothers, students, training developers, managers, event organisers, artistic directors, flight attendants, sportswomen, moteliers, beauty therapists and leaders in a wide number of community organisations. ![]()
