Hot Club Sandwich PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Warmly appealing with eccentric edges....having the time of their lives getting a handle on bluegrass, country blues, jug band, pop-folk, vaudeville music, and jazz á là Quintette du Hot Club de France,

Then adding devilishly clever wordplay for an old-time music of their own that can provide the exhilaration of watching a trapeze artist toeing the wire a few hundred feet high. - Downbeat Magazine USA

Andrew London has been a constant feature on New Zealand's musical landscape for over 20 years, his easy-going vocal style gracing the airwaves of both National Radio and Prime Time Television. He has recorded with some of New Zealand's top jazz musicians, including Paul Dyne, Roger Sellers, Terry Crayford and Leigh Jackson. As well as providing guitar and vocals for the 'Hot Club Sandwich' he appears frequently with blues diva Marg Layton, harmonica virtuoso Neil Billington, and national entertainment icon Nick Tansley in Nick's '70s nostalgia band 'The Mod Squad'. Andrew is also a busy solo artist, travelling the length and breadth of the country week in and week out, as 'Sandwich' commitments allow.

Terry Crayford is a true New Zealand jazz legend, having played with numerous national and international acts including Beaver, Malcolm McNeil, Jimmy Witherspoon, Barbara Windsor, The Seekers, Dan Barrett, Wild Bill Davison and Scott Hamilton among others. He is probably one of the country's most frequently-heard composers, being responsible for television's 'Fair Go' theme.
