Ralph Bennett-Eades

Kiwi Singer Songwriter Ralph Bennett-Eades has been "Singing the Bues ever since the world began", and lately he's been introducing his new C.D. "everybody's got a lil' somethin'" to his fans and new comers alike.

It's a collection of Blues and Originals performed on his 1935 National Steel guitar, recorded live @ the Fullmer's Gallery in Tasman. " I chose the room because of it's great live sound, and the fact that Steve Fullmer used to work at the National guitar factory in California kind of made it seem perfect."

Ralph was joined by his long time partner in the Blues, Paul Denny, on Harmonica. The two recorded a live C.D. "acoustic blues" back in 2007. The new C.D. draws from not only the Blues of Son House, Sleepy John Estes and Elmore James but also Delta-ised versions of Dylan, the Dead and Leon Russell songs. Ralph's new originals : a deep "Embryonic Blues", the driving blues of "Man vs Nature", whimsical "Thinkin' bout my babe", the walking blues of "Lil Bit Loco" and the Hokum " everybody's got a lil' somethin' " bring it all into focus. Contemporary Old School Blues.

Ralph and Paul performed at the first RockGas Jazz and Blues Festival and are keen to show case songs from "acoustic blues" and the new C.D. "everybody's got a lil' somethin' "
