Brief History

Fred Played guitar in 1977 for Wellington band Captain Custard,mainly at the Royal Tavern,the 1860, and several nightspots around Wellington, also some south Island venues.Based in Wanganui these days,he has a long list of Wanganui bands he has been involved with including Dance Party,Freddie and the Terrorways,Lounge Suite, and now the Blues Buffet.

Paul Wilson is fairly new on the live scene in comparison but he played Keyboards with the rock act Spies Like Us,Lounge Suite, and now the Blues Buffet.He is kept busy doing jinggles for local radio.
Nigel Bateman came to Wanganui via Whakatane and has played drums for Muflar,Certafied blues band, and was lead singer for Broomdance.He also keeps his hand in the Wanganui Brass band and the airforce band.
Murray(Dusty)Loveridge was around Wellington in the 1970s playing bass for Quincy Concerve and forming Captain Custard with the legendary Malcom Hayman.He spent a few years in Melbourne playing bass for the Brotherhood of Blues and returned to Wanganui in 2004 where he is playing for the Blues Buffet.

The band incorporate a mix of popular blues covers with original compositions when performing live shows and in 2009 they recorded a c.d. called Appetiser which is available at most record stores They now have there second album out now called “All you can eat baby”and include some of these tracks in their live set such as “Whiskey for breakfast”,the Rock out song “Spead Freak” and the very topical”Aftershock Blues”.The band played at the Blues,Brews and BBQs in Tauranga both 09 and 2011 the Tauranga jazz and blues fest 2010,Church road jazz and Blues Fest,Manawhatu Jazz and Blues Fest and the Hawkes Bay jazz and Blues Fest.
