The Hanmer Holiday Homes Alpine Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km, runs from Lake Tennyson, high in the alpine environment of the St James and Molesworth
Stations following the Clarence River along quiet gravel roads, and crossing Jacks Pass before descending to the picturesque village of Hanmer
Springs,130km NW of Christchurch.

Just a few reminders.
- Have you booked some accommodation? Check out Hanmer Holiday Homes website.
- The Marathon start is at Lake Tennyson. Both the Half Marathon and 10km starts are enroute back to Hanmer Springs.
The last 6km is downhill, the rest of the course is also downhill, except for approximately 3km climb at approximately 33km, that is 9km before the finish.
- There will be water at 7km(35km to go), 14km(28km to go), 21km(21km to go), 25km(17km to go), 32km( 10km to go) & 36km(6km to go)
- You may transport yourself, or get support crews to transport you to start points. There will be buses available to the Starts, but there will NOT be organised shuttles after the race to collect vehicles from the Starts.

Entry confirmation:
Entries received by post will be confirmed by email only.
Refunds
will be given up to the closing date of Wednesday 12th December, less $10 admin fee. No refunds will be given after this date.
Entry on the day
will be available at registration for an extra cost of $10
Walkers
are welcome to compete on all courses, and there will be a separate category for these competitors.
Registration
will be at Monteiths Brewery Bar on Amuri Ave from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on Friday 14th December or the start area from 7.00am –10.00 am on Saturday.
NB
If you register it will be assumed you will start the race. This is an important safety issue. Please do not register and then not start the race.
Indemnity Forms:
must be completed and signed at Registration. Every competitor must sign this form. Junior competitors must have their form signed by a parent / caregiver.
Shuttles to Start:
Shuttle Buses will depart for start areas two hours before Race Starts from Hanmer Springs Sports Pavilion at a cost of $20. These must be booked with your
entry.
Race brief
will take place the Start Line of each race 15 minutes before Start Time. All competitors must be present at this.
Start time
for the Marathon will be at 10am, the Half Marathon will be at 10.30, and the 10km will be at 10.45am.
Prize giving
at finish area at the Hanmer Springs Sports Pavilion at 4pm. or once all competitors have been accounted for. There will be numerous spot prizes; you must
be there to get one

Extreme weather conditions
i.e. strong winds or snow may mean it is unsafe to run the race on the planned route. The organisers reserve the right to alter the course at short notice,
or withhold entry fees and offer an alternative date.
Race Conditions:

All competitors, fully understanding all the inherent hazards, compete at their own risk.

The organisers will not accept liability for any personal injury or mishap during the event that is caused by the competitor’s actions, inaction,
negligence or unacceptable behaviour.

All competitors must read, understand and accept the possible hazards associated with this event.

All Hanmer Holiday Homes Marathon and associated races competitors must be of sufficient fitness to complete the course that they enter.

The organisers reserve the right to withdraw from the race any competitor who shows signs of severe fatigue or injury during the race.

All competitors must dress sufficiently for the conditions and weather likely to be experienced during the race. Remember Hanmer Springs is an alpine
village and weather conditions change very rapidly. All competitors must carry sufficient gear for the conditions and weather likely to be experienced
during the race.

Race officials must be obeyed and have the right to stop the race or disqualify any competitor.

Competitors must follow the route as described and marked by the organisers. Your race numbers must be attached to your chest.

No litter is to be dropped on the course.

All competitors must attend the race brief.

All competitors
must sign the indemnity on the entry form, which states that you have read, understood and agree to these conditions of entry.
