Location
The race village is located at Hanmer Springs Forest Camp, Jollies Pass. Access will be available from daylight on Saturday morning. We want to create a race village so vehicles are not permitted around taped areas. You are welcome to unload your vehicles but then must park in the designated parking area.
The Course
The Hanmer 4&8 Hour Mountain Bike course consists of an approximate 6km clockwise loop using mostly intermediate trails (Upper Dog Stream and Mach 1) with fast downhill sections and some great climbs. Some very small sections of the course cross onto advanced trails for a short time.
The Super Junior Course uses Camp Track and Easy Rider on a beautiful yet less technical course suitable for young riders. This course also starts and finishes at the Hanmer Springs Forest Camp.
Kit
Hanmer Springs is an alpine village and can experience a wide range of weather conditions. We recommend you consider carrying the following. Layered clothing, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, hydration pack, survival blanket, energy bar. Please do not wear headphones as this limits your ability to hear directions from marshals and hazards. Helmets are mandatory.
Prize giving
The Prize giving ceremony will be held at the Forest Camp at approx 5pm or as soon as the last rider has completed. There will be spot prizes. If you place you must be at the prize giving to receive your certificate and prize. We are unable to post prizes. The prize categories are: Male Individual, Female Individual, Corporate Team, Mixed Age Team, Mixed Gender Team, Overall Male Team, Overall Female Team. There are no age categories for Teams.
