Hanmer 4 Square
Hanmer Half
Race Info
1 May 2021
The Hanmer Half Marathon takes competitors on a unique journey through Hanmer Forest amongst amazing mountain scenery. This is a great pre race for the Christchurch Marathon.
Course
After an initial 2km climb the route follows forest roads to a split at Jollies Pass Road. Here the half marathon takes participants through the main block of forest before linking up with the 10km route to run through the flat Heritage forest and a final sprint down the road to finish at Hanmer School.

The final 5km course follows Jollies Pass Road for 2km where it joins the 10km and half marathon for the finish.

Walkers
Walkers are welcome on each distance, however due to marshal constraints the marshals will move from their positions in the half marathon once the last runner has passed.
Walkers must keep to the left to allow runners to pass and must not block the course. You must walk if entered as a walker, if you are seen to be running or jogging you will be disqualified.
