Courses
The Long Course is 17.5km in length with 500m of elevation gain and starts with a gradual climb up Clarence Valley Road. After a short stint along Flax Gully the course then starts climbing up Yankee Zephyr before eventually joining the newly created Tombstone track. After a gradual climb with some 25 switchbacks you will reach the highest point of the course (698m). Please not this is an advanced track which includes some technical downhill sections. After an epic descent on the Tombstone track the course then climbs up Big Foot via a series of switchbacks followed by a flowy descent before joining Detox, Mach 1, Base Camp, Western Link, up Swamp Track, round the back of Conical Hill and then down Lucas Lane to the finish line at Hanmer Springs Domain. For those brave enough to take on the 2 Lap option, it’s time to repeat!
The Short Course consists of a less technical 7km loop with 180m of climbing that uses mostly intermediate trails (Swoop and Swamp) and is suitable for bikers of varying abilities. The Short Course also starts with a gradual climb up Clarence Valley Road. After a short stint along Flax Gully the course then heads down Swoop and then all the way up Swamp Track before connecting with Lucas Lane and back to the Finish line at Hanmer Springs Domain.
