Race Info

11 September 2020

Starting and finishing outside Monteith’s Brewery Bar on the high street, the event will be in the dark with a mixture of street and off road route options and is suitable for gurus to newbies. Anybody that has a moderate level of fitness can participate and a high level of navigation ability is not required. You will have the opportunity to catch up with friends and other participants, discuss route options after the event and enjoy the challenge of running alongside other participants.

Rogaining involves solos and teams of two to five members who visit as many checkpoints as possible in the time allowed. Checkpoints are scored differently depending on the level of difficulty in reaching them, therefore strategy and route selection become key. Participants travel entirely on foot, navigating by map and compass between checkpoints in varying terrain. Participants travel at their own pace and anyone from children to grandparents can experience the personal satisfaction that comes with cross-country navigation at their own level of competition and comfort. Team members must stay within earshot of each other.

Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams and solos.
